The fight against the pandemic, the new medical device regulation and the #NextEU funds are the main topics at FENIN's General Assembly

Portada FeninSisemed attended the traditional General Assembly of the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (FENIN), where a summary of the main representation activities carried out by the employers of the medical technology sector has been made. This year, the focus was on the great work carried out by the healthcare industry in the fight against the pandemic, the new medical device regulation that will recently come into force and the #NextEU funds.

The group of companies in the health technology sector has played an essential role in the fight against COVID-19, as they have been at the forefront in supplying protective products, in vitro diagnostic products, diagnostic imaging equipment for monitoring, medication infusion and mechanical ventilation and respiratory therapies, among many others.

FENIN has also led the "Country Project" in response to the priorities established in the #NextEU funds, which is based on four objectives: the improvement of health outcomes through the measurement, processing and analysis of data; patient participation in the care of their own health, also with the empowerment of data; the proper management of health resources; and the promotion of the Health Technology Sector.

FENIN represents more than 80% of the health technology sector in the Spanish market, which generates around 28,000 jobs and an annual turnover of 8,000 million euros. Sisemed has been a member of the association since its inception and is an active member in the Technology and Clinical Information Systems and Digital Health sectors.
