Fenin EIC

The Spanish Federation of Health Technology Companies (Fenin) presented the 'Study on the manufacture of Health Technology in Catalonia' at the College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia, which was attended by representatives of the Administration, health authorities and the main social actors in the sector, as well as the industry itself.

Among the main conclusions, the need to promote investment in the industrial fabric of the territory and to have a regulatory framework and support for the certification of medical devices in our country should be highlighted. An innovative value-based public procurement system is also considered fundamental, as well as recognition of the significant effort in innovation made by the sector, in order to maintain competitiveness and attract talent.

According to the report, Catalonia leads with 35% of manufacturing in Spain the Healthcare Technology sector, followed by Madrid (21%), the Valencian Community (11%) and the Basque Country (10%), and 50% of the large Spanish companies participating in the study are located in Catalonia.
