Quality and patient safety in the traditional Avedis Donabedian awards ceremony of the Palau de la Música

Premios FAD 2019Sisemed has attended the traditional award ceremony of the Avedis Donabedian Quality Awards, which is held every year at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona and brings together the main authorities and leaders in Spanish healthcare. The event was attended by the Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare, Maria Luisa Carcedo, and the Vice President and also Councilor of the Department of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Pere Aragonès.

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation is the representative in Spain of the Joint Commission, which is the most experienced audit organization in the world in health accreditation. It also collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO) to examine everything that has to do with quality and patient safety. Of the 480 hospitals that exist in Spain, there are only fourteen accredited with this seal.

Ensuring patient safety is precisely the main objective of the services offered by Sisemed in the field of medical technology for which it has been a key to establish a collaborative management model with its own seal that involves the manufacturers themselves, services Hospitals and our technical assistance professionals.

The Avedis Donabedian Awards were created in 1989 to highlight aspects of the quality of the centers and to set trends for the future development of the different areas of care management. The awards especially reward the effort and dedication of professionals in health and social field, in initiatives that improve the effectiveness and safety in providing care to the person or in initiatives that develop activities for the continuous improvement of quality assistance.
