New economic and fiscal horizon for the health technology industry at the 28th meeting of Fenin and Esade

Fenin Esade Sanchez LlibreOne more year, Sisemed has been present at the traditional Health Technology Sector Meeting, organized every two years by Fenin and Esade, which includes the participation of the main players in the medtech industry in our country. In this, its 28th edition, the focus has been placed on the keys to the new economic and fiscal horizon that will help us to strengthen our position in Europe.

At this time, 85% of the products in our sector companies are subject to 21% VAT, when applying a reduced VAT as France, Italy, Germany or Belgium already have, it is estimated that it would save our National Health System some 1,000 million of euros. Added to the burden of the technological obsolescence of the park of installed medical equipment and within the framework of the European funds that are to come, the experts agree that it is necessary to intensify the demands of the sector, in order to provide the system with better financing.

The new scenario that arises after two years of the pandemic also points to a greener and more sustainable Europe for our sector and to continue advancing in the #OSDéate strategy, which Sisemed has signed.
