References in Healthcare meet at the Avedis Donabedian Awards for quality care

Premios FAD 2023 TaulíThe Avedis Donabedian Quality Awards have once again brought together the leaders of healthcare in our country at an awards ceremony enlivened by musical performances. The Axa Auditorium in Barcelona was once again the chosen venue where more than 1,000 people gathered, including the main authorities, representatives of healthcare and social institutions, and leading figures in Spanish healthcare and industry, such as Sisemed and Costaisa, a company belonging to the same business group.

The National Award went to Dr. Antoni Trilla, Head of Preventive Medicine at the Hospital Clínic and Professor of Preventive Medicine at the University of Barcelona, ​​who also advised the Spanish government on the occasion of the coronavirus disease pandemic. Likewise, it is worth mentioning the recognition of clients of Sisemed and Costaisa (companies of our same business group) such as Parc Taulí (quality improvement in the social area), Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (corporate memory), Fundació Althaia (quality improvement in hospitals), and Aliança Estratègica C17 of Hospital Clínic, Consorci Hospitalari de Vic, Hospital de Granollers, Fundació Sanitària de Mollet and Hospital de Sant Celoni (quality improvement in integrated care).

The Avedis Donabedian Awards were created in 1989 to highlight aspects of the quality of healthcare centers and to set trends for the future development of different areas of care management. The awards recognize the efforts and dedication of professionals in the health and social field, in initiatives that improve the effectiveness and safety in the provision of care to the person or that develop activities for the continuous improvement of the quality of care.

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation is the representative in Spain of the Joint Commission, which is the auditing organization worldwide in health accreditation and collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO) in quality and patient safety.
